Alliance Francaise Dubai will host a concert by French band Insula Jazz Trio on April 14 at their auditorium in Oud Metha.
Playing a form of jazz Caribbean Maghreb music, the band is composed of Maher Beauroy on piano, Redha Benabdallah on oud and Adriano Tenorio on percussions.
Beauroy and Benabdallah met for the first time in 2006 at Paris-Sorbonne University, bringing together their mix of Arab-Andalusian music. With Tenorio, the band first debuted in August 2015 at the Biguine Jazz Festival (Martinique). The band draws inspirations from the writings of Martinican philosopher Frantz Fanon.
The concert will be held as part of family fun day on April 14, which kicks of at 3pm. Tickets start at Dh60.
