U Me Aur Hum

Whether he is making films (Maqbool or Omkara) or composing music (Maachis or Satya), Bhardwaj never fails to impress. The music score for the much-anticipated Kajol and Ajay Devgan film is no different. Bhardwaj has come up with a refreshingly modern and youthful soundtrack.

The album takes off smoothly with Adnan Sami and Shreya Ghoshal's foot-tapping Latino-styled Jee Le Jee Le. It's then followed by Ghoshal's mellow and romantic rendition of the title song. The male version of the same features Vishal Bhardwaj's distinctly raw voice and is more appealing than Ghoshal's rendition.

Sunidhi Chouhan's Maine To Chaha Tha Saheli Jaisa Sainya, Adnan's and Sunidhi's Phatte Phatte Munh and Adnan's and Shreya's Dil Dhakda Hai are typically mass-oriented item numbers, relying on beats and energy to make them appealing.

Munna Dhiman's lyrics (case in point: Saara Din Afwaahon Sa Udta Rehta Hai Gali Gali) are reminiscent of Gulzar's style. That is not surprising, considering the fact that Bhardwaj's best work has been with this veteran wordsmith.

Pritam
In line with the film's name, Pritam comes up with a fast-paced soundtrack filled with zesty dance tracks such as Race Sanson Ki (Sunidhi, Neeraj), Dekho Nashe Mein (Shaan, KK, Sunidhi) and Mujh Pe Jadoo (Apache Indian, Taz, Sunidhi). However, the highlight of the album is Atif Aslam's romantic track Pehli Nazar Mein, even though it is said to be heavily inspired by
a Korean song.

Super Star
Shamir Tandon
Shamir Tandon composes an interesting soundtrack for Super Star. It includes the mellow number Ajanabi (Hariharan), Hindi-Arabic dance track Mann Tu Talabat (by a nasal-voiced Hamza), a classical song Aankhon Se Khwab Roothkar (by Rekha Bhardwaj, Ustad Sultan Khan) and passable party-song Rafa Dafa (Shaan, Kunal Ganjawalla and others).

This tasteful compilation has a string of romantic numbers from recent Bollywood films and Indipop albums. Sonu Nigam's and Shreya Ghoshal's Main Agar Kahoon, Lata Mangeshkar's and Adnan Sami's Shayad Yehi To Pyar Hai, Shaan's and Ustad Sultan Khan's Aao Milo Chalo and Rafaqat Ali Khan's and Alka Yagnik's Main Hoon Woh Aasman are the top tracks.
