Om Shanti Om
Various artistes
Choreographer-turned-filmmaker Farah Khan has her finger firmly on the audience's pulse. On her second mega-venture with Shah Rukh, she does away with Anu Malik (who composed the music for her debut film Main Hoon Na) and ropes in new talents Vishal-Shekhar, who repay her faith with this colourful soundtrack.
The album opens with KK's soulful Aankhon Mein Teri. Sukhvinder's power-packed dance track, Darde Disco steps it up a notch.
Abhijeet-Shreya Ghoshal's Dhoom Tana keeps up the disco nostalgia while Shaan's Om Shanti Om is reminiscent of the Karz classic Ek Haseena Thi.
The explosive party song, Deewangi, by Shaan, Udit, Rahul, Sunidhi and Shreya; Main Agar Kahoon by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal; and the folksy Jag Soona by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Richa Sharma are also worth listening to.
The movie is widely expected to be a blockbuster; the soundtrack already is.
Manorama: Six Feet Under
Jayesh Gandhi
Jayesh Gandhi's independent venture as a composer is not very impressive. The songs Woh Bheege Pal (Jayesh Gandhi-Zubeen Garg) and Tere Sawalon Ke (Roopkumar Rathod- Mahalaxmi Iyer) lack originality. Composer Raimond Mirza seems to have done much better in Kailash Kher's Dhundla Jo Sama.
