Do you believe in dieting?
No, I don’t believe in dieting, but I believe in moderation. Do not do anything in excess and life will be fair to you. God has created so many things for us to eat and enjoy, so why deprive yourself of these pleasures? Enjoy life as this is your only chance.
Do you believe healthy foods are boring?
Healthy foods can be very interesting if they are part of your diet. But healthy foods all the seven days of the week can definitely be boring. A combination always works well. Healthy foods, especially at night, keep you light and you wake up fresh the next morning. One should keep dinner simple and light with low or no carbs.
Staircase or the lift?
I stay on the 8th floor, so definitely the lift. I am not an exercise freak. Why add one more stress to your life?
Early to bed, early to rise?
A good sleep is very refreshing. I like getting up early as it gives me more time during the day and also allows me to plan better.
Do health statistics of diseases alarm you?
Yes, they alarm me. With the sedentary lifestyle we lead today, the statistics are becoming even more very alarming. I do get worried for myself and my family. Obesity is of very serious concern and can lead to some serious issues later.
What stresses you the most and how do you deal with it?
My children are in India. My son works in Delhi, and my daughter studies in Chennai. (In the North and South of India, respectively). Their well-being always concerns me. I spend an hour-and-a-half in the gym everyday at least five days in a week, to relieve my stress. I have joined music classes and am learning to play the piano. I recently joined sculpture classes and they are a great diversion and help me to get creatively involved.
How often do you get a regular health check-up?
I have seen people fall seriously ill, who I had thought looked completely healthy. An annual medical check-up is a must for the whole family and I believe prevention is better than cure. If you are forewarned, you can take preventive steps to manage any disease early.
