Mansur Gavriel shoes

The mule is THE shoe of 2016. Trust us. I know — right now, you’re probably looking at these clunky styles thinking, ‘yeah, right’. In about one month, you’ll be wearing some iteration of the style and struggling to remember why you didn’t like them. That’s how trends work sometimes. Or is that just us? If you’re looking for something priced below than the crossed mule the fashion world fell in love with at Gucci, take a look at the debut shoe collection from NYC-based handbag designer duo Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel. The four styles come in various heel heights, in suede and tanned vegetable leather, in six colourways. Prices start from Dh1,414 on NET-A-PORTER.COM.

beauty!

Starskin

These days, it’s not a face mask if you don’t look like Hannibal Lecter whilst wearing it. Those fabric masks with holes for your eyes and mouth have been doing the rounds for a few years since they made their way over from Korea; now it’s all about non-rinse bio-cellulose masks infused with product. Made from coconut, they make for a slippery if entertaining facial experience. Latest on the market is Starskin, also from Korea, with a full range of masks for firming, balancing and lifting. And for the VIPs out there, the Diamond (refining) and Gold (brightening) masks have just hit Sephora, for Dh73.50 each.

shop!

Marks & Spencer goes digital

The need to actually leave your home reduced even more this week with the news that the British high-street store has launched online shopping in the UAE. There are 6,000 clothing, home and lifestyle products available at marksandspencerme.com (you’ll still need to visit the Festival City store to buy crumpets) delivering to your door or available to collect in-store. With Click & Reserve, they promise shoppers can collect online orders within 60 minutes of making the reservation. In Dubai, there’s a “Concierge Service”: The courier will bring multiple sizes for you to find the perfect fit. In other M&S news, Brit It girl Alexa Chung has dug through their archive, bringing back her favourite pieces with a modern twist. Styles from her 31-piece collection will land at Festival City, Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Mall in May 2016.
