Lebanese diva Fairouz will return to her fans in Beirut after a long absence with two concerts this weekend.
While the details of the concert have not been unveiled, Fairouz's son, musician Ziad Al Rahbani, confirmed to tabloid! that he's written new material for his mother, and she'll sing it — although he won't be making an appearance. "No, I am not participating and yes, Fairouz will perform some of the new songs," he said.
Fans of the 75-year-old diva are flocking from neighbouring countries and all over the world to attend the sold out concerts slated for tomorrow and on Friday at the Beirut International Exhibition & Leisure Centre.
Meanwhile, many fans expressed their love and support for the diva on her official fan page on Facebook
It's expected that Fairouz's latest album Eh, Fi Amal (Yes, There Is Hope) — written and composed by Ziad Al Rahbani — will be launched at the concert.
