Transporting food items in the heat

A few days ago, I noticed this truck at around 2.30pm. I was on my way to Dubai from Sharjah and it was a very hot afternoon. The temperatures are rising and we are not able to withstand the heat even when seated inside a car with the air conditioner turned on. This is the reason why this truck caught my attention.

I noticed it while we were stuck in traffic and as is visible in the photograph, it was loaded heavily. I could see packs of juice bottles and other food items, loaded all the way to the top. My concern was that the items were uncovered, which is a sight that you rarely see in the UAE.

Generally, a lot of care is taken while transporting food items, but this was very concerning as it is so hot and the food items might be ruined. I hope the authorities keep an eye out for such practices and make sure such incidents don’t recur as it could be dangerous for the people consuming the food.
