Storm in the UAE damaged lamp posts and people’s private property
During the recent storm across the country, I witnessed so many accidents. Additionally, many people had to bear losses due to the hoardings and sign boards, which either got damaged or broke due to the storm and in turn destroyed people’s private property.
I noticed a lamp post that had almost toppled over and many of the advertisements on lamp posts had fallen off (pictured).
Even the advertisement billboard attached to bridges had fallen down. I think such kind of advertising should be planned carefully as the billboards can fall on vehicles and cause a lot of damage.
Another important factor is the use of suspended scaffoldings or cradles to clean the windows of high-rise buildings. Once the work is done, I have noticed that the scaffoldings and maintenance cradles are left on the pavements, close to the buildings.
During the recent storm, one of the heavy machineries hit a car and the vehicle was severely damaged.
Why do the companies responsible just leave these items lying on the pavement? If these companies act responsibly, we can avoid such accidents in the future.
I request the authorities concerned to act strictly against these companies and find a solution for people’s losses.
