I work in Dubai and travel on Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road while commuting from Sharjah. In the recent months, the traffic started building up on the Sharjah Ring Road, especially just before the exit for Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road to Dubai. It is mainly due to motorists jumping the queue and creating traffic blocks.
It also causes stress to the motorists who are waiting in the queue and following the traffic rules. Motorists who travel using this road every day have to start early in the morning and only reach their offices late due to the traffic congestion created by these motorists who violate traffic rules.
Authorities have spent a lot of time, effort and money on the development of Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road and adjacent roads to ease the flow of traffic. However, such motorists who follow the rules are not being able to enjoy the benefits of the same due to some inconsiderate people during peak times. Every morning the drive to work is so stressful.
I request the authorities to look into this issue immediately. They need to take some action; either install lane dividers or have constant police patrol in this area during peak hours and impose heavy fines on those motorists who violate the traffic rules and create traffic blocks and delays.
