Reader advices others to properly dispose of litter
I am a regular visitor at the corniche in Abu Dhabi. Like many others who value their health, I usually go there to walk or jog after work.I usually jog beside the sea to enjoy the sea breeze and sometimes stop for a while to rest and get some fresh air. One day, my friends and I decided to go fishing; therefore we needed to buy some bait.
We headed to the fish market to buy some bait, but instead of getting into a taxi, I suggested that we walk to the fish market. To get to the market, we would have to pass by the corniche on Meena Road, which heads to the market.
I was so shocked upon seeing tons of garbage in the sea and the worst was seeing all of the dead fish. The garbage included soft drinks aluminium cans, cooking oil containers, food wrappers and many other items.
I wondered where all this garbage came from. I decided to highlight this problem in a community report to call on people to be responsible.
Everyone needs to enjoy and everyone needs to relax, but we must bear in mind that no matter what we do, everyone has a responsibility. We should always think of how we can be caretakers of our environment.
