Irresponsible behaviour destroys the environment

Recently, when returning from a party, we approached our car in the parking lot and witnessed a disgusting sight ­— garbage was thrown around our car. This was very upsetting as trash can could be seen at just an arm’s length. Additionally, when we reached home, we witnessed a similar scene in the parking lot near our building near the old Iranian Souq on Sharjah’s Corniche Road. Careless people had thrown garbage out of their cars in the parking lot.

The authorities have provided so many dust bins around — it is not likely for anyone to miss them. All they have to do is walk a short distance. In such a situation, it is horrible to have to accept such an act.

Environmental activists insist on the segregation of garbage and we have so many options available to correctly dispose plastic, paper and cans. In this case, people could at least have thrown the garbage in a bin. I have noticed this a lot and wish to bring this concern to the attention of the authorities so that immediate action is taken.
