Call to switch off lights on Al Ittihad Road during day
Reader complains about the street lights being left on during the day time.
Gulf News reader Ikhlas Mohammad Iqbal took this photograph in Sharjah.
He said: “A few days ago, when my dad and I were returning to Sharjah from Dubai, I noticed that several street lights adjacent to a mall on Al Ittihad Road were switched on during the day.
"I was surprised to see this because several street lights in the industrial areas were switched off even during the night, making it difficult for the motorists to drive in the darkness.
"I request the concerned authorities to consume electricity where it is required and not waste it, for example by switching on the street lights during the day. Save electricity for the future generations.”
The reader is a student of Delhi Private School in Sharjah.
