A tribute to one of the most active team members of Social Bandage.
Dubai
Saeed Harib bin Harib, the cousin of the founder of Social Bandage and one of the most active members of the organisation passed away in a tragic accident on February 22, 2015 leaving the team members devastated.
“He was heavily involved in all the initiatives, the main brain behind give a bike drive. He would speak other languages and communicate to people in their native languages creating a comfort zone and bridging the gap. He would donate a bike to even small children on streets. We have decided to carry on his memory and donate a number of bikes a day in his memory,” Khalifa Bin Hendi, a member of Social Bandage and founder of 1971, says.
Hammad Al Awadhi, a member of 1971, remembers Saeed as a person with a kind heart.
“He was very keen to raise awareness in the community. Usually we start and end an initiative over a period of time and move to a new idea. However we have decided to continue #giveabike in Saeed’s memory,” he says.
“It was a tragic end that left us shocked. Saeed always had a smiling, friendly face and it’s a big loss for us.”, Lauren Doble, a volunteer for 1971, said.
