A one-day festival organised by Alchemy Project will bring eight top artists to Dubai next month.
Leona Lewis, Ne-Yo, Taio Cruz, Jay Sean, Natasha Bedingfield, Skylar Gray, Sugababe Amelle Berrabah, Tash and more will perform in Dubai early next month, the events company announced yesterday. The music giants will take to the stage at the first Atelier Live Music Festival on April 6 at Dubai Sports City's International Cricket Stadium.
Atelier Live is a new development from nightlife concept Atelier by the Alchemy Project and the company promises it will showcase live performances from international artists from around the world.
"Alchemy Project, Dubai Sports City and Riva Entertainment are really excited and proud to bring this fantastic line-up of the world's top artists to Dubai as part of the Atelier Live Arena Festival," said Mac. S. Far, Managing Director of Alchemy Project and Founder of Atelier Live. "Tickets go on sale at 9am today and with this calibre of artists performing live, I know they will sell really quickly. A fantastic new event for the region."
While former UK X Factor winner Leona Lewis, a solo artist who has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, and Beautiful Monster singer Ne-Yo are billed as the headline acts, the remaining acts are nothing to be sniffed at.
Taio Cruz and Jay Sean have both taken the industry by storm over the past few years and are all appearing on the main stage performing their smash hits including Dynamite and Ride It. The impressive line up continues with the beautiful Bedingfield, rising star Skylar Gray — who performed at last year's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix — and Berrabah, a member of UK girl-pop group Sugababes.
Bringing the Arabic flavour is Sony Music Middle East's first signing, Tash, who will perform his debut single Habibi Leh, which is currently on rotation on most regional stations.
The event is the first of its kind to be held at Dubai Sports City (DSC) and will start at 2pm and continue until the early hours of the following morning. The seated capacity at the Dubai Cricket Stadium at DSC is 25,000 but with the arena area included can accommodate up to 30,000. The stadium recently served as the venue for a performance by Indian music superstar A.R. Rahman. Global superstar DJ Edward Maya will spin the best dance tunes into the night to keep everyone dancing.
Rajeshree Iyer, head of marketing at DSC, said all involved were excited about the event. "We hope this is the first of many festivals we can hold at Dubai Sports City. It isn't just one concert, it is more than 12 hours of non-stop music and entertainment. We hope to hold two or three similar events through the year."
The festival will be set up to include the famous catwalk element from Atelier, which will showcase a professionally produced fashion show.
