Abrenica embroiled in scandal

Seems like showbiz has not had enough of sex scandals. Here comes another - a starlet trying to break into show business has filed a case against Aljur Abrenica, one of the hottest young actors in the industry, for acts of lasciviousness.

The act allegedly happened in Boracay, where the girl was working as a hostess for an event, where Abrenica was vacationing with friends. The details are still sketchy at this stage. Even the girl's age is in question - while some say she is 13 years old, other sources maintain she is 15.

Abrenica has already issued a statement through his lawyer, saying he will answer all allegations once he comes back from a previously booked engagement in the US, where he is set to appear in Independence Day celebrations in Los Angeles organised by Filipino-Americans in the city.

The allegation comes at a time when Abrenica's career is on the upswing. His current soap series, Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin? (Are You Worth Loving?), has been breaking ratings records in the afternoon timeslot, and the actor is set to appear in a prime time series tentatively titled All My Life.
