It’s time to re-visit Bollywood hits Mitwa (Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna) and Toisey Naina Lagey (Anwar) as Bollywood singers Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan and Shilpa Rao descend upon Dubai on January 25 for a concert titled MTV India Unplugged Live. To be held at the Safina Ballroom in Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Pakistani talent Khan will treat his fans to his rich repertoire of hits including Yeh Honsla (Dor) and title track from the film Tum Mile. Accompanying him is Rao, who will belt out her hits including Ek Lau (Aamir) and Ishq Shaava (Jab Tak Hai Jaan). Tickets are available for Dh600 (dinner inclusive), Dh250 and Dh150. In a separate event, Canadian-born Bollywood singer Natalie Di Luccio will hit the decks on Saturday at Rixos Palm Jumeirah. Di Luccio, who has toured with Oscar winner A R Rahman and has collaborated with hitmaker Sonu Nigam, is first of the many live acts planned every Saturday. After Di Luccio’s Dubai visit, India’s fusion band Indian Ocean will perform on February 2. The fusion-rock band’s concert will be followed by Pakistan’s popular act Jal on February 9 who will use that platform to treat their fans to their hits from the latest album Piyaas.
