Dubai: One of the most controversial couples in Philippine showbiz finally tied the knot as husband and wife following a church wedding in Paris and an extravagant reception at Palais Garnier on Saturday.
Celebrity dermatologist Vicki Belo and long-time partner Hayden Kho got married after more than 12 years of being together.
The wedding at The American Church happened more than two months after the couple married in a civil ceremony in their Manila home.
Belo, 61, donned an elegant romantic pink bridal gown created by Dubai-based Filipino fashion designer Michael Cinco.
Kho, 37, looked dapper in his black tuxedo and a bowtie.
The celebrity surgeon chose the pink gown among the four bridal gowns designed by Cinco.
“The blush wedding gown has a three-meter long train made of French lace and fully embroidered baroque pattern with transparent and rose opal Swarovski crystals,” Cinco posted on Instagra, describing Belo's gown.
The designer added that the wedding was "spectacular and extravagant" and "probably the most beautiful wedding I've ever seen...and I'm so proud and happy to be part of it."
Belo and Kho’s daughter, Scarlet Snow, was also present during the ceremony.
Around 250 family and friends witnessed the event, including Belo’s children from her first marriage, Cristalle Belo-Pitt and television director Quark Henares.
Others who flew into the French capital were Filipino celebrities Piolo Pascual, Alden Richards, Jodi Sta. Maria, celebrity couples Lucy Torres and Richard Gomez, Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes with daughter Zia, and Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez with son Nate.
Former Miss Universe Margie Moran, clothing magnate Ben Chan, socialite Tessa Prieto-Valdes and media personalities Dyan Castillejo, Korina Sanchez-Roxas were also present.
During the ceremony, smartphones were said to have been banned, as the couple wanted a private and intimate affair. After tying the knot, the couple headed to Palais Garnier for the reception.
In one of Belo’s Instagram posts, she thanked every one who attended the wedding: “Still on a wedding high. Thank you everyone who came and celebrated with us last night. Our hearts are full from all the love.”
