Korea Festival 2018, an annual event hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development in the UAE, is returning to celebrate the Year of Zayed with various activities and events ranging from art exhibitions, film screenings to sports.
It will also feature a mini concert by R’n’B singer Wheesung on October 24.
Nicknamed the ‘R’n’B prince’, the South Korean singer-songwriter will perform songs such as Insomnia, Love is Delicious, With Me, Heartsore Story and Even Thought of Marriage, following a performance of Korean traditional music and dance by Namwon Korean Music Orchestra.
His 15-minute performance is scheduled to start at 7pm at the National Theater in Abu Dhabi and will be open to the public with free admissions.
Wheesung debuted with a solo album in 2002 and sold more than 600,000 copies. Wheesung has also written and produced numerous hits for artists and groups such as Gummy, Ailee, SHINee, Twice and Orange Caramel.
English R’n’B singer-songwriter Craig David even reached out to Wheesung to sing a Korean version of his hit song Insomnia.
Wheesung has also participated in Korean TV show such as Immortal Songs and Hidden Singer.
Korea Festival 2018 takes place from October 17 to November 10 at various locations in Abu Dhabi. All events are free to attend, except for the film festival.
