This summer Louis Vuitton revealed the new LV Diamonds jewellery collection, a complete line with rings, pendants, bands, and earrings, including the highlight of the collection: the LV Monogram star is a uniquely cut diamond in the shape of a blooming flower that goes back to the 1700s when France’s King Louis XV first commissioned such a stone.

It’s quite the headlining piece, but Louis Vuitton isn’t done making headlines this summer, releasing more high-jewelry pieces for the Empreinte collection first shown in 2004.

Now Louis Vuitton Artistic Director of Jewellery and Watches, Francesca Amfitheatrof, pushes the historic line towards a new creative chapter with these contemporary and bold designs. The inspiration for the pieces comes from the impression of trunk studs etched into the 18-karat yellow, white or pink gold pieces, both for men and women. Naturally the iconic LV initials are present, first designed in 1896 by Georges Vuitton who succeeded his father at the head of the legendary Maison.

Again, the Monogram Flowers are also part of the designs, and interlaced bracelets mimic the leather straps on Louis Vuitton’s famous luggage trunks for the association of travel and adventure. A long necklace can also be worn as a bracelet, and hoop earring and ear cuffs can mix and match for some added versatility with your outfits…
