Tennis superstar Rafael Nadal and his wife Maria Perello teamed up with French haute parfumerie Henry Jacques to launch a special collection of fragrances.
The collection, called “In All Intimacy”, features three fragrances which reflect the personalities of the famous duo, and a number of ‘firsts’ for everyone involved: it’s the first time Nadal has ever collaborated on a perfume; the first time Henry Jacques has ever collaborated with an icon; and the first time the Maison is making these fragrances available for all instead of sticking to its heritage of personalised, bespoke perfumery.
Nadal’s contribute to the collection resulted in two fragrances, one a lighter scent for active lifestyles, and the other a more personal fragrance inspired by the Mediterranean and infused with earthy, natural tones.
“It is difficult to imagine my life without the Mediterranean Sea. I love its scent, the citrus, the freshness,” said Nadal. “To me, there is nothing like the scent of the earth after the rain, when the sun sets...” he added.
Nadal’s wife Perello developed her fragrance alongside Henry Jacques with subtlety the key, and light, fresh notes of violet and orange blossom, as well as hints of bergamot, jasmine, sandalwood and white musk.
"For me, it is important for my perfume to become part of my identity, to be recognisable and to perfectly match my personality,” she said. “I envisioned this fragrance as a sense of security, self-confidence, uniqueness, strength and completeness. I really wanted it to smell like elegance, and more importantly, happiness.”
