It’s all about life in the Metaverse as Fendi joins the virtual universe announcing its new partnership with a leader in digital tech. The iconic Italian luxury house is best known for flawless craftsmanship and Roman savoir fare, but it’s now taking a dive into the future with Meta’s Spark AR technology to use augmented reality for incredible virtual experiences.

Fendi has already presented its fashion show in the Metaverse at the fall-winter 2023 men's collection, and then launched a cryptocurrency wallet, so this latest venture isn’t a leap into the unknown. Available on Meta’s Instagram and Facebook platforms, the innovative augment reality effect is called Faster by Fendi, designed as an interactive experience that invites people to ‘search for hidden treasure’, or rather, find Fendi’s just-revealed Faster sneaker.

Users simply point their phones at any space in their surroundings and begin the hunt, suddenly transforming their environment into an archaeological site and using their hands to interact with the virtual world. The effect utilises an innovative new hand-tracking feature to make the experience feel more natural and realistic, so you can think of it as a ‘mixed reality' interaction.
