The largest gallery in the UAE, Leila Heller Gallery in Alserkal Avenue, has three new exhibitions by prolific Middle Eastern artists for you to visit this October

Leila Heller Gallery, the largest gallery in the UAE with its three dedicated spaces, at Alserkal Avenue in Dubai is announcing three contemporary exhibitions from renowned Middle Eastern artists.

Contemporary Lebanese painter Marwan Sahmarani’s solo show is titled ‘The Dream of Saturn’ inspired by the ancient Roman god of time, abundance and wealth. His paintings reflect the collapsing chaos of Saturn’s fate to represent the tragedy of war and decay of Lebanon and the neighbouring countries as well.

According to Sahmarani, “The nightmare of war, poverty, and misery seems never ending and the dream of a more prosperous life, remains a dream. Saturn’s dream.”

The second exhibition entitled 'Beyond the Seas there is a City’, the solo show by Iranian-Egyptian artist Parinaz Eleish Gharagozlou, focuses on history or rather a society’s personal link to the past.

“Though I begin each painting with a story and an idea, at the core, I hope it is the raw emotion that will carry the viewer,” she says. Her large unframed paintings are inspired by the rich folk stories of her native Iran, her vibrant dialogue spilling over the edges to see the tale going in your imagination.

Azza Al Qubaisi’s exhibition ‘Between The Dune Lines’ is the third solo show at Leila Heller Gallery, showcasing the artist’s sculptures and jewellery paying homage to the UAE and sustainable creativity. Emirati Al Qubaisi is known as the first jewellery designer in the country, having exhibited internationally representing the UAE for nearly 20 years.
