Dubai: It was only about five years ago when Dubai exploded in celebration as it was announced that it has won the bid to host Expo 2020.
In just a few days, another spectacle will unfold and, this time, it will be to mark the countdown to one of the biggest events in the history of UAE.
Organisers of the world exposition have announced that a specially choreographed show will be hosted at Downtown Dubai on Saturday, October 20, as it will be two years to go until the hosting of Expo 2020.
The mega event will be held in Dubai for nearly six months, from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021 at the 438-hectare site in Dubai South district near the Al Maktoum International Airport.
With the event only about two years away, residents and visitors in the UAE are encouraged to gather at the Burj Park to watch a special Dubai Fountain show and display on the Burj Khalifa tower on Saturday.
It will be an “evening of standout performances, cuisine from around the world, live music and art exhibitions,” organisers said.
The event is open to the public and it will start from 5pm.
