Last updated:

Dubai: Eid in Dubai has chosen the Eid District in Dubai Festival City (DFC) as one of the main venues for the new government initiative by the Dubai Shopping Festival Office (DSFO).

The venue at DFC, a key sponsor of the event, will feature family-oriented cultural events and programmes catering to visitors of all ages.

Yousuf Mubarak, chief operating officer of DSFO said: "The Eid District is designed to accommodate indoor and outdoor activities at Dubai Festival City and the venue will focus on five entertainment segments - the Fun Fair, Heritage Zone, Fireworks, Solo Musicians and Middle East Music Bands, in addition to a joint Indo-Pak concert on the final day of the event."

The three-hour concert is slated to feature singers Atif Eslam from Pakistan and Shaan from India.

Festive atmosphere

Tom Miles, senior general manager, retail, DFC, said: "The Eid District will enhance the festive atmosphere created by Eid in Dubai and as one among the key sponsors of the event, this is very much in line with what Dubai Festival City espouses - providing an environment that is synonymous with the spirit of Eid Al Fitr and its characteristics of celebration."

The Fun Fair will be a play area for children and families, with numerous rides and arcade games.

The Heritage Zone is designed to present traditional events held during Eid, and will incorporate all the elements of a traditional Eid celebration through exhibits, cuisine and music.

Eid in Dubai celebrations will be held for three days, beginning on the first day of Eid Al Fitr and will commence again on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.
