Emirati singer Shamma Hamdan, a former Arabs Got Talent contestant, will perform at Global Village on November 3, organisers have announced.

Hamdan was the first UAE woman to make it to the finals of Arabs Got Talent in 2012. She was barely 18 when she auditioned for the live singing competition and wowed the judges.

She made an impression on the acoustic guitar, and became known for playing several instruments and mixing Khaleeji, pop, rock and flamenco elements in her music. She was also recognised for her style and her signature wavy chop.

The following year, Hamdan made an appearance on the global TV show Coke Studio with British singer Jay Sean. The pair performed a fusion rendition of Sean’s hit single, Down.

Now 23, Hamdan will perform her latest songs on the Global Village’s Main Cultural Stage at 9pm, including her new single Afaker Feek.

Entry into Global Village, which will include access to Hamdan’s performance, is Dh15 at the door.
