Gains international recognition after award at World Leaders Summit at Oxford University
QuantLase Lab, an Abu Dhabi-based advanced research center specializing in quantum photonics and diagnostic technologies, has gained international recognition following a major award presented at the 13th World Leaders Summit held at the University of Oxford.
The lab’s Director of Research and Principal Scientist, Dr. Pramod Kumar, received the Quantum Innovation and Photonic Excellence Prize 2025, acknowledging the lab’s achievements in developing scalable quantum-enabled photonic systems. The accolade affirms QuantLase Lab’s growing leadership in high-efficiency quantum optics, non-invasive diagnostic tools, and photonic computing solutions.
Known for its breakthrough during the global pandemic with the Laser DPI rapid screening system, QuantLase Lab has since expanded its portfolio to include advanced imaging platforms and early-stage photonic computing architectures. These innovations are being applied in medical diagnostics, secure communications, and real-time analytics.
The lab was also recognised in 2024 with the Quantum Entrepreneurial Spirit Award at the Quantum Innovation Summit in Dubai, further cementing its role as a key contributor to the UAE’s national deep-tech ambitions.
“The momentum we built through real-world applications like the Laser DPI system enabled us to expand our focus into scalable quantum technologies,” says Dr Kumar. “We aim to accelerate adoption across sectors through collaborative innovation.”
QuantLase Lab continues to advance its R&D capabilities through strategic public-private partnerships and global collaborations. With ongoing support from regional stakeholders, the lab is positioning itself as a major contributor to the region’s transformation into a hub for photonic and quantum research.
