Dubai’s GISEC Global 2025 is shaping up to be a pivotal moment for the cybersecurity sector, bringing together innovators, strategists, and regional leaders to showcase the technologies and thinking that will define the future of digital defence. This year’s edition, that started today and runs until May 8 at Dubai World Trade Centre, emphasises on unified platforms, AI-led threat detection, and talent development, mirroring the needs of both enterprises and public infrastructure.

Business heads and representatives of prominent technology brands in the UAE who also happen to be participants at the current edition reveal what they plan to showcase at the turnkey exhibition as well as expected key takeaways from the exhibition.

"This year's GISEC participation will be ManageEngine's 12th consecutive year at the premier cybersecurity event of the UAE. At GISEC, we are highlighting the need for a unified security strategy for organisations to counter the evolving threat landscape. This is a call to action against fragmented approaches that leave organisations vulnerable to sophisticated threats. We will be showcasing our latest enhancements and innovations in our cybersecurity suite of IT solutions — available in both on-premises and cloud versions — that help organisations secure their cyberspace.

"Visitors to our booth at GISEC 2025 can experience our AI-integrated cybersecurity IT suite, which includes our key SIEM, IAM, and PAM solutions amongst others. Our innovative solutions reflect our commitment towards helping organisations adopt a smart, unique, and adaptive approach to cybersecurity in a volatile threat landscape."

"SANS Institute is proud to join GISEC 2025 as a strategic partner, reinforcing our long-standing commitment to advancing cybersecurity talent in the Middle East. Visitors can expect instructor-led sessions at the inaugural SANS GISEC Academy, three days of free, technical training focused on Offensive Operations, Cyber Defense, and ICS/OT security. We'll also share insights on countering AI-powered threats during mainstage talks by Rob T Lee, our Chief of Research.

"Beyond the academy, attendees can visit us at Stand D75, Hall 7, to connect with senior experts and learn how we’re helping defenders stay ahead of emerging threats."

Scattered products and siloed views have left organisations struggling to hold back threats across a fragmented attack surface. But the war against cyber risk won’t be won with security strategies and solutions that stand divided.

From booth C175 in Hall 5 Tenable will showcase Tenable One - a singular platform built to solve the central challenge of modern security: a deeply divided approach to seeing and doing battle against cyber risk. It gives enterprises a single, unified view of risk truth across all types of assets and attack pathways. It connects the dots between the lethal relationships that span solution silos, rapidly finding and fixing the priority exposures that drive up business risk.

With cyber threats becoming increasingly sophisticated, how is Sophos leveraging AI and automation to strengthen its threat detection and response capabilities in real time?

At Secureworks, a Sophos company we’ve been harnessing AI in our solutions for years, and continue to advance our solutions with Gen AI capabilities. In Security Operations Centers (SOCs), reducing alert fatigue is critical, and AI is instrumental in analysing vast volumes of data and proactively detecting threats. Our AI-powered platform reduces mean time to notify by around 80 per cent and time to remediate to around 30 minutes.

AI’s ability to generate sophisticated, real-time predictions means we can offer drastically enhanced threat detection efficiency. It is transformative because it allows us to deliver predictive insights to customers — a crucial capability in today’s rapidly shifting threat landscape.

As enterprises navigate the risks of remote work and distributed IT environments, what unique cybersecurity challenges are emerging, and how is Sophos helping clients adapt and secure their networks?

Threat actors don’t sleep. Attacking through vulnerabilities, phishing, remote access, and social engineering can severely compromise an organisation’s system. Adversary-in-the-Middle (AiTM) attacks are seeing a rise, potentially reducing the effectiveness of some types of multifactor authentication (MFA), a worrying trend for network defenders.

While some clusters of threat groups are executing fast ‘smash-and-grab’ attacks within hours, others spend hundreds of days in networks in the most extreme cases. As the ransomware ecosystem continues to take evolve, we can expect to see further variation and shifts in dwell times and methodology.

Many organisations lack the necessary resources to efficiently create, construct, staff, and sustain a comprehensive Security Operations Center (SOC) at a reasonable cost. However, any organisation can achieve the same level of accessibility as a 24/7/365 SOC with a Secureworks MDR solution that incorporates the latest advancements in threat detection and response, ensuring the entire organisation is under careful watch for threats, and that all threat actors are met with responsive action, neutralised, and remediated.

How is the Sophos acquisition benefiting customers in the region?

We see a significant market for Secureworks as part of Sophos in the META region. As cyber threats across META become more prolific, organizations are for a platform -based approach to help prevent, detect, and respond to cyber threats that integrates across their entire IT landscape.

Sophos helps customers in the META region by providing advanced, easy-to-manage cybersecurity solutions tailored to local threat landscapes. Its portfolio includes industry-leading endpoint, network, email, and cloud security products — all interoperable and adaptive — managed seamlessly through the Sophos Central platform.

Through a strong regional partner network, Sophos delivers localised support, compliance guidance, and training, making enterprise-grade security accessible to businesses of all sizes. Additionally, Secureworks acquisition enhances this offering with its market-leading Taegis platform, providing CDR/MDR, identity threat detection and response (ITDR), next-gen SIEM capabilities, and expert advisory services to deliver comprehensive threat protection and visibility.
