ABC Group Vice Chairman extends heartfelt wishes for International Women's Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Shameera Shareef, Vice-Chairman of ABC Group of Companies, extended her heartfelt wishes to women worldwide. She emphasised that recognising and ensuring equality for women should not be confined to just one day but must be a continuous effort.

“It is an absolute honour to live in the UAE and lead the ABC Group, where we uphold progress and humanity by actively involving women in the nation's development and recognising their immense potential,” said Shareef.

Each year, International Women’s Day serves as a reminder of the pivotal role women play in society. Under her leadership, ABC Group has successfully promoted gender equality within the logistics and freight forwarding industry, ensuring equal opportunities for female employees. She further assured that the management would continue prioritising the welfare of women within the company by providing them with necessary support and creating more opportunities in the coming years.

In women’s empowerment initiatives, Shareef has spearheaded several pioneering programmes. Notably, she launched an abra boat parade exclusively for women on International Women’s Day, offering an empowering experience while raising awareness about women's contributions to society, particularly within the UAE’s diverse communities.

Under her leadership, ABC Group organised a free breast cancer screening camp last year, advocating for early detection and awareness among women. The company also hosted the ABC Cargo Women's Cricket Tournament, aiming to unite women from different professional backgrounds, inspiring them to reach their full potential and drive societal progress.

This year, as International Women’s Day coincides with the holy month of Ramadan, ABC Cargo, under Shameera Shareef’s leadership, is organising an iftar meal for housemaids working in the UAE. The initiative is rooted in the belief that women should not be categorised based on education or social status but should be collectively uplifted, recognised, and empowered within society.

Through these initiatives, Shareef continues to champion the cause of gender equality, reinforcing ABC Group’s commitment to creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for women in all walks of life.
