Transform inside out with a yoga challenge

Fitness, weight loss, good health and an overall sense of wellbeing are all achievable goals. What’s important is maintaining it. Permanently. And Bharat Thakur’s Artistic Yoga is offering a way to do just that.

“Transformation is something everyone wants but there is no source which has a roadmap for it, for an average urban citizen living in a fast-paced environment such as Dubai,” says Ravi Seshadri, director of Bharat Thakur Artistic Yoga. “The Himalayan Challenge gives you that platform”.

Five participants selected through a radio show were put through a rigorous practice of physical yoga, kriyas and deeper techniques such as yoga nidra, tratak and visualisation for 12 weeks to achieve results that proved life changing for the participants and their families.

Why it promises to be lasting is because of the break it made in their deep-rooted habit patterns that seem impossible to break. Apart from huge loss in weight, the participants have overcome hypertension, sleep apnea, grief, emotional blocks, relationship issues, confidence problems, chronic back condition and so on.

“The Himalayan Challenge is about reprogramming the mind and body. It is about cleansing the psyche of harmful deep-seated patterns through yoga and other ancient techniques and creating a new canvas for positive, life enhancing patterns,” says Seshadri.”Each participant will be trained by a team of five which will include a trainer, lifestyle and diet coach, and a yoga mentor. There are two aspects we work towards: stated goals and transformation goals. The stated goals are fitness, health and wellness. Within each, with extended results, are weight loss, strength, flexibility, endurance, toning and energising for fitness; improvement in all health areas such as cholesterol, hypertension, etc, for health; and, stress relief, peace of mind, joy and a sense of wellbeing for wellness”.

The trainers have 7-10 years of their own research and development behind them. However, the programme is not for everybody and a strict selection procedure will be followed for the participants.

“Being an intense programme, The Himalayan Challenge requires 100 per cent attendance and commitment. If you are looking for a complete makeover and are willing to make this the number one priority of your life for three months, only then you are eligible to participate in the Himalayan Challenge,” says Seshadri.
