‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ gets earlier release
Film’s selection at Toronto film fest prompts change of date
Yash Raj Films’ (YRF) forthcoming entertainer “Shuddh Desi Romance” will hit the screens a week earlier than scheduled, before it premieres at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2013.
The movie, which stars Sushant Singh Rajput, Parineeti Chopra and debutante Vaani Kapoor, was set to release September 12 in the UAE (a day later in India). But after being invited to TIFF for a Gala Red Carpet premiere, which will take place September 11, the makers of the movie have decided to release it on September 5 in the UAE.
“This will enable the artists to be here during the crucial pre-release marketing phase and at the time of release,” read a statement.
Shuddh Desi Romance, directed by Maneesh Sharma and written by Jaideep Sahni, is billed as a fresh take on a Bollywood love story and stars Sushant Singh Rajput, Parineeti Chopra and Vaani Kapoor.
