The tattoo artist and reality star announced her break-up with the DJ on Twitter
Kat Von D and recent beau Deadmau5 are no longer together, the tattoo artist and reality TV star announced on Twitter over the weekend. “Man ... Can’t say I didn’t give it my best,” she said on Saturday in the first of a series of tweets on the break-up. “Man, I sure was wrong. But at least he made it a no-brainer to break that off. #lessonlearned. Now, we can get all of the ‘I told you so’s’ outta the way ... And move on.”
And for those who had no idea what or whom the 30-year-old was talking about? “Clarification: Deadmau5 and I are no longer together,” she wrote.
They’d been dating for about two months after meeting at a party. Deadmau5, the 31-year-old DJ and electronic-music producer (real name Joel Zimmerman), had his own posts to Facebook and Twitter on the matter. “going to spend a little while screwing my head back on,” he wrote Saturday. “i guess im not cut out for relationships right now. and that’s all i really wan’t to dwell on it right now. ill figure it out. no hard feelings.” He continued: “it happened too fast, i lost my balance and fell into a familiar dark place that im having difficulty with. she deserves someone stronger. “... and thats it for the personal stuff...”
Von D, of course, is no stranger to hearing “I told you so,” having been engaged to Sandra Bullock’s ex-husband, Jesse James. Kat and Jesse, who made headlines for cheating on Bullock, broke off their engagement more than once, ending it for real in September 2011. She said afterward that he cheated on her with 19 women during the year they were together.
