Deepak Tijori, who played an important role in the 1990 hit Aashiqui, says it would have been nice if Mahesh Bhatt had cast him in the remake as well.
“I am really looking forward to watching the film (Aashiqui 2). I really wish that Bhatt saab had cast me for some part over there. But I am definitely sure he will come out with something wonderful,” the 51-year-old said at the launch of the first look of his directorial venture Rock In Love.
Tijori played lead actor Rahul Roy’s friend in the original film directed by Bhatt.
The remake is being directed by Mohit Suri and stars Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead.
Talking about Rock In Love, Tijori said he kept giving reference of Aashiqui to his actors while shooting the film.
After working in films such as Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Aaina, Deepak turned director with Oops!. He also directed Tom, Dick, and Harry, Fareb and Khamoshh... Khauff Ki Raat, but none could hit the bull’s eye at the box office.
