Bollywood actor accused of punching and assaulting neighbour
For the second time in six months, Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi is in trouble for allegedly punching and assaulting his neighbour, police said in Mumbai on Friday.
This time, Pancholi, 48, has been booked — but not yet arrested — for attacking his 55-year-old neighbour and educationist Bhargav Patel on Thursday, an official of the Versova police station said.
Pancholi has been slapped with various charges following a CCTV footage of the incident provided by Patel, the complainant.
The incident happened late on June 19 when an allegedly inebriated Pancholi pounced on Patel over a minor parking brawl in the posh Versova area of north-west Mumbai.
This is the second incident involving the duo in the past six months, according to police.
The last incident happened on January 15. Irked by some renovation work at Patel’s residence, Pancholi and a group of men, who came along with the actor, allegedly dragged and assaulted Patel.
Patel had lodged a written complaint, but no offence was lodged against Pancholi, who is known to frequently lose his cool over trivial issues.
The family has been in news in recent weeks after his son Suraj was booked by police on charges of allegedly abetting the suicide of Bollywood actress Jiah Khan. He is currently in judicial custody until July 11.
