There’s always something about South Korean star Seo Yea-ji that makes you look twice, both on and off-screen. If her recent roles featured puffed sleeves, statement hats, and bold eye makeup, her rare airport appearance has once again sparked just as much buzz.
On February 3, Seo Yea-ji was spotted at Incheon International Airport as she departed for Bali, Indonesia, for an overseas schedule. Her outfit was relatively simple: A crisp white blouse, paired with a high-waisted denim, cinched at the waist with a brown belt for a polished silhouette. A black mini bag served as the perfect understated accent.
If that wasn’t enough, she kept her styling minimal, with sleek black short hair and natural makeup, leading her fans to flood comment sections, discussing her hairstyle and outfit. “Okay that haircut is just like her Lawless Lawyer days,” commented one fan, referring to her show with Lee Joon-gi.
This is clearly not the first or the last time when Seo Yea-ji creates waves for her outfits and sharp styling. In fact, in her 2020 show, It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, where Seo Yea-ji played Ko Moon-young, a glamorous, yet traumatised and eccentric children’s book author with an unusual range of outfits in her wardrobe, her style statements in the drama was a perfect mix of high fashion and fairytale fantasy, featuring structured silhouettes, exaggerated sleeves, and delicate lace details. Indeed, her fashion statements were as layered as her character. Luxury designer brands like Alexander McQueen, Zimmermann, and Prada dominated her wardrobe, emphasising her character’s commanding presence.
Her outfits often played with contrasts—feminine yet powerful, delicate yet striking. From an intricately embroidered white dress reminiscent of a princess to bold, structured black ensembles exuding dominance, Ko Moon-young’s wardrobe was a visual extension of her complex persona.
On the other hand, in the show Eve, Seo Ye-ji transformed into Lee Ra-el, a woman seeking revenge. Unlike the whimsical and ethereal wardrobe of Ko Moon-young, Ra-el’s fashion was all about understated luxury and classic elegance.
She embraced figure-hugging dresses, monochrome power suits, and meticulously styled accessories, exuding confidence and mystery. And even if the show didn’t work, it’s Seo Ye-ji’s outfits that continued to make waves.
