Dubai: At the heart of Expo 2020 Dubai lies a majestic dome, the luminous beating heart of the show Al Wasl Plaza, and adjacent to this centrepiece is the Rove Expo 2020 hotel. The only onsite hotel is offering visitors 312 king, twin and accessible Rover Rooms as well as 19 Rover suites, as the event organisers expect an audience of over 25 million from the region and all over the world.
Urban, contemporary and designed for the young, the 3-star hotel is a joint venture between Meraas Holding and Emaar Properties PJSC – Emaar Hospitality Group is the official hotel and hospitality partner to Expo 2020 Dubai.
With bookings now open, visitors can keep abreast of all the buzz from Al Wasl Plaza, where major opening and closing ceremonies, 360-degree projection shows and daily programming will take place for 182 days. The hotel will open its doors in conjunction with the opening of the World Expo on October 1, 2021.
The home-grown hotel brand on the Expo site houses several food and beverage outlets, a grab-and-go Rove Café and The Bar, a 24-hour gym, prayer rooms, co-working spaces and sustainable in-room amenities, which is in line with the fair’s goal of hosting the most sustainable World Expo in history.
In fact, Rove Expo 2020 is staying beyond the six-month run, remaining as a permanent hospitality property on District 2020 grounds – a future-ready, smart city that will come into existence in October, 2022.

How to get there
The Rove Expo 2020 hotel sits at the intersection of the Metro entrance and the Mobility District.
Expo’s three Thematic Districts (Opportunity, Sustainability and Mobility) are connected to Al Wasl Plaza, which acts as a linking hub to more than just these wings – visitors can also access the Al Forsan and Jubilee parks, the UAE Pavilion and the brand new Route 2020 Metro Station that links commuters directly to Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) beach, The Dubai Mall and more.
If you’re coming in through the metro, the Dubai Metro arrival plaza would be the ideal choice. Visitors using any other transport means such as private car, taxi and the Expo Rider bus will have to reach the hotel through Mobility’s arrival plaza.
Staying around Expo
Short-stay rental options in and around the Dubai South district are diverse and budget-friendly. From homestays to AirBnB and hotels, the world exposition’s convenient location makes it easier for globetrotters and staycation lovers to drop in to witness a collaborative and much-needed gathering of 191 countries.
