Dubai: The Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), the local government’s principal investment arm, will spotlight its portfolio of companies in the form of a journey at its ICD Pavilion on Expo 2020 Dubai grounds.

Designed by Spanish firm Icaria Atelier Design & Media and UAE-based landscape architecture practice LMS International, the pavilion covers an area of 1,350 square metres with ALEC FITOUT overseeing the construction.

“Dubai is the first city in the Middle East to host the World Expo and we are thrilled to be participating and showcasing the best our emirate has to offer. This inevitably includes ICD and its subsidiaries that have become household names not only here at home but across the globe,” Douraid Zaghouani, Chief Operating Officer at ICD said.

A relaxing visitor experience

Narrated over eight nodules interspersed with seating and relaxation areas made of natural materials, the sustainable bamboo structure is designed to give visitors respite from the hustle and bustle of the fair.

Visitors will enter through an audio-visual waterfall aperture screening the pavilion. Past the waterfall, they will be engulfed by tall hedges and guided through the pavilion by stems and stalks and winding grassy slopes.

The ICD experience can accommodate 189 visitors during each journey or 252 visitors per hour.

While on the winding journey, the corporation's story will unfold through the companies in its portfolio such as Kerzner, DMCC, Emirates Global Aluminum, Dubal Holding, LINQ by ALEC, Emaratech and Dubai Global Connect.
