Dubai: The Israel Ambassador to the UAE Amir Hayek today extended his country’s "congratulations and blessings of prosperity and a common future" to the UAE as the Israeli pavilion at Expo 2020 turned into one big celebration.

“The state of Israel is honoured to celebrate 50 Golden Years with our friends in the UAE. The 50th celebration of the UAE’s National Day is a time for all of us to pay respect to the legacy that was passed on by the founders of this great country. This legacy was deeply rooted in the values of coexistence and has flourished into a great and noble vision, impeccably executed by its leaders, and has transcended beyond borders and cultures. The newly established relationship between Israel and the UAE is another strong demonstration of the country’s leading spirit and commitment to regional peace, development, and growth for the benefit of all. On behalf of the state of Israel and all its people, I wish to extend the warmest congratulations and blessings of prosperity and a common future to the UAE,” he said.

Meanwhile at the Israel pavilion, while the Hanukiah symbol of the Hanuka Jewish holiday was present in the middle of the open pavilion, the seven gates around were colorful with the UAE flag. Images that recall the first year relations between the two state presented to the visitors how deeply the people of the two nations are engaged in order to guarantee a better tomorrow. Images of Israeli ministers visiting the UAE and of the Abraham Accord signing could be viewed on LED walls through the entire day.
