‘Iftah Ya Simsim’ to air 30 episodes in Ramadan

Children’s series Iftah Ya Simsim will air 30 episodes in Ramadan, which is projected to begin towards the end of May.

The series, created by Bidaya media, is the Arabic version of Sesame Street and created in partnership with Sesame Workshop.

The episodes, 12 minutes each, aim to teach children about financial empowerment in an engaging way. The three core elements of the Dream, Save, Do segments are the importance of planning and setting goals, self-discipline and sharing resources, according to a press release. The show will feature Muppets No’man, Shams, Kaaki, Gargur, Elmo and Melsoon.

“We are very excited to launch this special series during the Holy Month of Ramadan to inspire children to make careful choices with their families around spending and helping those around them,” said Cairo Arafat, managing director of Bidaya Media.

Iftah Ya Simsim is a strong platform to target children in their formative years, and the series aims to further explore themes around spending, saving, donating and sharing, through engaging episodes featuring our lovable Muppets.”

The show will air on multiple television channels with selected segments available on the Iftah Ya Simsim YouTube channel.
