Step into a land of shadows as a new theatrical experience heads to Dubai this September, blending ballet, circus performances and storytelling through a multimedia presentation.

Dance theatre company Pilobolus is staging Shadowland at the Dubai World Trade Centre on three nights, starting September 15, after a successful run across 30 countries in North America, Europe and Asia.

The shadow-play story follows a young girl’s journey through a terrifying night, conceived in collaboration with musician, comedian, actor and writer Steven Banks, along with singer-songwriter David Poe. The performance will blend projected images and choreography, playing with darkness and light.

“It is amazing that shadows, something we thought we always knew, have emerged at this point in Shadowland’s life as a new medium and storytelling form. It makes me proud to have had the chance to be a part of something that was really a global phenomenon…,” said Robby Barnett, Charter Artistic Director, Pilobolus, in a statement.

Tickets for the show starts at Dh230 are available online.
