This hit Chinese show took us on a journey of heartbreak, longing, and reconciliation.
Dubai: If the first season of the dreamy hit Chinese show The First Frost has your heart and hit all the right notes, you’re not alone.
Bai Jingting and Zhang Ruonan’s sizzling chemistry in this slow-burn romance had fans swooning, sobbing, and hitting replay on their favorite moments.
Adapted from Zhu Yi’s novel, the drama wrapped up its heart-melting love story on March 10 (for Express Package users), leaving everyone wondering: Will there be a Season 2, or is this the end of our emotional investment into their dramatic lives?
Directed by Chu Yu Ning, The First Frost took us on a journey of heartbreak, longing, and that satisfying reconciliation. 28 out of 32 episodes are now streaming in the UAE on Netflix. The last four episodes will drop in quick succession on March 14, 15, 16 and 17.
For those living under the proverbial rock, Sang Yan and Wen Yifan went from childhood sweethearts to estranged lovers, only to find their way back to each other. And let’s be real—their love story had us in a chokehold. Meanwhile, the second leads, Zhang Miaoyi as the ride-or-die bestie Zhong Siqiao and Edward Chen as the charming Su Haoan, added even more layers to this already addictive drama. With its massive success in China, the UAE, India, and beyond, fans are not ready to let go.
Let’s rip the Band-Aid off: a second season seems highly unlikely according to popular fan theories. The drama ended on a perfect note—Sang Yan and Wen Yifan moved in together, met the parents, took a nostalgic trip back to their high school, and sealed the deal with a tear-jerking marriage proposal. What more could we ask for?
And yet, here we are, greedy for a Season 2, because at the end of the day, we’re all hopeless romantics who can’t resist a good love story. Will the creators cave and give us more? Unlikely.
I am not crying, you are crying.
