Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece Eugene Onegin to enchant Dubai

Dubai: One of the world’s most timeless operatic masterpieces, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, will be staged at the Dubai Opera on February 20 and 21.

Based on Russian playwright Alexander Pushkin’s acclaimed novel-in-verse, Eugene Onegin is a tale of unfulfilled love and pride amidst the passage of time.

The opera follows Tatyana, a young woman whose heartfelt declaration of love is dismissed by the enigmatic and aloof Eugene Onegin.

As the years pass, Onegin comes to realise the gravity of his mistake, yet fate cruelly denies him redemption.

Celebrated Russian composer Tchaikovsky’s soul-stirring melodies and richly orchestrated score elevate the narrative, making this opera a deeply immersive and emotionally charged experience.

Eugene Onegin will be performed by the National Theatre Brno opera, orchestra and choir.
