Mumbai woman was spotted in a lift and offered role by director

Ram Gopal Varma has a discerning eye for spotting talent.
Meet his latest discovery, newcomer Anaika, a Mumbai woman who is playing the lead in his upcoming film Satya 2.
Varma spotted her while in a lift in Mumbai and approached her for the role.
“Films were never on my mind,” revealed Anaika, who was assisting her father in his construction business and planning to go to university.
“Of course, I was happy when Mr Ram Gopal approached me for the role. There were no auditions. But my family was initially sceptical as they are not from the industry. Mr Varma put my parents at ease and convinced them that I had potential to do the character.”
Anaika plays a sweet and innocent woman who falls in love with the wrong guy.
She said she barely had time to prep for her role.
“Absolutely no preparations. Mr Ram Gopal Varma asked me to report on the sets with my make-up. I was very nervous on the first day, but within five minutes, it all vanished. RGV is cool on the sets,” she said.
Satya 2, a story of the underworld, stars Punit Singh Ratn paired opposite Anaika. In the Telegu and Tamil version of the film, titled, Naanthanda, Anaika is paired opposite Telegu actor Sharvanand.
