British actor-writer Russel Geoffrey Banks, who has worked in horror films such as the psycho-thriller Who’s Watching Oliver, stars in Vishwaroopam 2.
Banks was initially hired as a scuba diver for an action sequence and after two days of filming he got to play the role of Tim, who is a part of the British intelligence team working with Wisam Ahmad Kashmiri, played by Kamal Haasan.
Working with Haasan was amazing, Banks said.
“You just have to soak in as much knowledge as you can from him. Watching another legend Shekhar Kapoor [who plays a key role] was a blessing and an opportunity to improve my craft,” he added.
Banks did struggle with the new language though, since the film was shot in more than one Indian language — Hindi and Tamil. Subsequently, he has been doing commercials in India and is keen on working on more films including Tamil films.
Vishwaroopam 2 releases in the UAE on August 10.
