YouTube creator has faced massive backlash after his incestuous remarks on a talent show

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has weighed in on the backlash surrounding Ranveer Allahabadia’s controversial remark on Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent.
The remark, which many have deemed inappropriate, has sparked outrage on social media, with politicians, celebrities, and the public condemning the content creator. Despite Allahabadia issuing an apology, the criticism continues to escalate.
Addressing the controversy, Imtiaz Ali said, “Fame achieved through shortcuts doesn’t last. People should pursue what they enjoy, but obscenity is universally condemned. That said, mistakes by immature individuals shouldn’t always be taken too seriously.”
Actor Manoj Bajpayee also shared his perspective, urging young, successful individuals to “observe and understand their environment” before making such comments.
Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna, however, took a stronger stance, calling Allahabadia’s remark “a serious offense.”
In a lengthy post on X (formerly Twitter), Khanna stated, “This reflects the misuse of freedom of expression among today’s youth. Such obscene and irresponsible statements should not be tolerated.
Offenders must face strict punishment to discourage similar behavior.” He even suggested a symbolic public humiliation to deter others from making similar remarks.
Actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani added his disapproval, stating, “What happened is very wrong, and I do not support it.”
The controversy has also drawn the attention of political figures and regulatory bodies, with calls for stricter oversight on digital platforms. Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned Allahabadia and others involved in the show, further intensifying the fallout.
This incident highlights the growing scrutiny around social media and content creators, with calls for accountability becoming louder.
