John Lloyd Cruz: Guilty of a great role

If initial reviews are anything to go by, then John Lloyd Cruz may have delivered his best acting performance yet in the soon-to-be-shown movie The Trial, which also features Richard Gomez, Gretchen Barretto, Jessie Mendiola and Enrique Gil and is part of Star Cinema’s 20th anniversary offering. Cruz plays Ronald, a mentally challenged man who was put on trial after allegedly raping his teacher, Bessy, played by Jessy Mendiola. The movie, directed by Chito S. Rono, releases in UAE theatres on October 30.
