His powerfully eloquent words belie his tender years. In a heartfelt tribute, the little brother of Charlotte Brosnan praised the fighting spirit which sustained his sister for three years before the mother-of-two succumbed to ovarian cancer.

Paris, 12, penned a moving letter to the daughter of actor Pierce Brosnan, who died on Friday aged 41 from the same disease which killed her mother 21 years ago.

The youngster, who lives with the 007 star in Malibu, California, posted his message describing her as an inspiration on Facebook.

He wrote: “Dear Charlotte, you were an amazing sister and I now understand all great people pass. And you were one of them.”

With heartbreaking poignancy, he describes how much he will miss his big sister and how she will always be in his heart.

“From you holding me as a baby to seeing you now,” he said. “You were the most amazing woman, and a true fighter, I will miss you and think about you every day.

“You are a true inspiration to me, to always keep fighting for the ones you love.

“You will always be in my heart. This morning I could not stop looking at the picture of you holding me as a newborn baby, as I cried and looked, I knew you were still with us.

“I wish I could of had got to have my last words with you but I guess not. You have two amazing kids, my lovely niece Bella, and the funny little Lukie.

“I will see you some day. But for now you watch over the family. R.I.P Charlotte Brosnan.”

Brosnan, 60, who returned to the UK from filming spy thriller November Man in Eastern Europe, has described his devastation at her death.

In a statement, the actor said: “Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl.

“We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences.”

She was with her husband Alex, children Isabella and Lucas, and brothers Christopher and Sean, he added.

Charlotte and Christopher, 39, were adopted by Brosnan in 1986 after the death of their biological father Dermot Harris.

Their mother, former Bond girl Cassandra Harris, was Brosnan”s first wife and died aged 43 in 1991.

Ten years later, Brosnan married journalist Keely Shaye Smith, 39, and they have two sons, Paris and Dylan, 16.

Friends and film stars from around the world have offered their condolences to the star.
