There’s more to Dubai Music Week than just the concerts. Sure, the gigs are the highlight of the three-day event, but between Wednesday, Friday and Saturday you can attend Q&As with celebrities, panel talks with industry professionals and even masterclasses to hone your singing and dancing techniques. tabloid! brings you everything you need to know about the event that kicks off on Wednesday.

WEDNESDAY: Jason Derulo

Can you hear the trumpets yet? American performer Jason Derulo returns to Dubai as the opening night artist of Dubai Music Week. He’s sure to keep crowds entertained with his slew of recent hit singles, including Wiggle, Talk Dirty and Want to Want Me. He hits the stage at 2.30 to open the event, followed by a fan Q&A, and performs at 6.30pm.

THURSDAY: Ellie Goulding

Everybody’s starry eyed, and everybody knows — Ellie Goulding is going to put on a killer show on Thursday night. The British star’s Dubai gig comes hot on the heels of the release of her latest single, On My Mind, last week. She’s getting ready to release her album Delirium next month.

FRIDAY: 30 Seconds to Mars

You’ve been waiting for these guys since April. The four piece, led by Suicide Squad’s Jared Leto, was originally scheduled to perform during Middle East Film and Comic Con earlier this year, but they will finally hit the stage on Friday night and wrap up the week with a bang.

CELEB TALKS at Dubai World Trade Centre

THURSDAY: Jason Derulo

Time: 3pm-4pm

Derulo will treat fans to a Q&A a day after his performance. Entrance to the Q&A is free of charge for the first 1,000 ticket holders.

FRIDAY: Jared Leto

Time: 2pm-4pm

Leto will present his 2012 directional debut, Artifact, at a limited seating screening, followed by a Q&A. Tickets are Dh88 through ticketmaster.ae. VIP packages are being sold for $250 (Dh918), including priority entrance into the theatre, a signed DVD for the first 50 orders and a photo with Leto, available on adventuresinwonderland.com.

Time: 3pm-4pm

This will feature a different session each day, including: “So You Think You Can Sing?” Vocal Technique Bootcamp, The Art of Auditioning and Perform Like a Star.

WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY: Dance Classes by Kendra Horsburgh

Time: 5pm-6pm

This will feature hip hop choreography on the first day, house choreography on the second and general choreography on the third.
