Mohanlal introduces Abhimanyu Singh’s character in L2: Empuraan

Dubai: Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has unveiled the latest character from the much-awaited action-packed political drama L2: Empuraan (L2E), directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Taking to social media, Mohanlal introduced Abhimanyu Singh’s role as Balraj, sharing a brief message and a link to a video where Singh talks about his character.

Singh described Balraj as a layered and intriguing personality. “He’s not just one-dimensional; there are many facets to him. That complexity made the role fascinating to portray. As the film progresses, Balraj undergoes a significant transformation, which was an exciting challenge for me as an actor.”

He also praised Prithviraj’s directorial skills, emphasising how the actor-turned-filmmaker brought a unique understanding to the process.

“Having an actor as a director makes a huge difference. Prithviraj knows exactly what he wants, and working under his vision was a great experience,” Singh added.

The sequel follows the blockbuster success of Lucifer (2019), which marked Prithviraj’s directorial debut and became one of Malayalam cinema’s highest-grossing films.

With L2: Empuraan being the second installment in a planned trilogy, anticipation is running high.

Scheduled to hit the UAE theaters on March 27, 2025, the film is expected to deliver another high-energy cinematic experience.
