Kerala YouTuber 'Shalu King' held for sexually assaulting minor
The assault took place under the pretence of future marriage
Kozhikode: A 35-year-old YouTuber from Kasaragod was arrested at Mangaluru airport for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl after falsely promising to marry her.
According to local media reports, the accused, Muhammed Sali, was arrested by Koyilandy police at Mangaluru airport upon his return from abroad. He had reportedly fled the country after a case was registered against him.
Sali, who has been active online for over seven years under names like Shalu King Media, Shalu King Vlogs, and Shalu King Family, allegedly connected with the girl on Instagram and Snapchat during a period of estrangement from his wife.
According to Mathrubhumi News, the assault took place under the pretence of future marriage. Sali has been married since 2016 and is a father of three children.
Arrest followed lookout notice
After fleeing India, a lookout notice was issued against Sali. He was taken into custody upon landing at Mangaluru airport, medically examined, and later remanded to judicial custody by a Koyilandy court.
