Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep and filmmaker J.J. Abrams are collaborating for a new TV show called The Nix.

Streep and Abrams will produce the limited series based on author Nathan Hill’s novel of the same name. The Oscar-winning actress is likely to play the lead role in the project.

The Nix follows a mother who sparks nationwide buzz for her campaign protests and her estranged son who capitalises on her fame and digs into her secretive past to pen her profile and ends up writing a scathing story about her.

Streep was last seen on the big screen in Florence Foster Jenkins and will next star in Mary Poppins Returns.
